Originally from the UK however raised in Hong Kong, Liat has been recruiting since 2012. When she joined Barton Mills in 2014 she started our “Early Careers” Desk but has since moved on to more senior roles in Banking and Finance and Office Support. In 2017 Liat was promoted to Associate Director and now heads up the BMR team in Sydney.
Liat is always looking to connect with recruiters who are looking to make that next step in their career. Feel free to get in touch today to learn more about the market, or even just the recruitment process!
As soon as I stepped into the Barton Mills offices, I knew it was where I wanted to work. The welcoming team and friendly interview style made me feel right at home; in fact I almost forgot that I was actually in an interview! From day 1 on the job I have felt as if I have been part of the BMR “family”.
I enjoy working with like minded individuals, my candidates and clients are fellow recruiters and therefore there is an understanding of the common goal. Many of my friends are also recruiters so I look forward to our paths eventually crossing within the work environment.
Honesty is a two way street! Also if you are going to be a “no show”, just let me know!
I moved to Australia from Hong Kong. My last role in HK was with a private investigation company. My last role in Sydney before moving to Barton Mills was as a Recruitment Consultant and Assessment Centre Facilitator for a volume, contact centre recruitment agency.
I am a very social person, a night in is a night wasted! On the weekends you will find me at the beach, shopping or catching up with friends. I love staying fit and eating healthy so playing netball, swimming and going to the gym are a few of my favourite activities.

Within 2 weeks of Liat reaching out to me via LinkedIn, I found myself in my ideal role, surrounded by a fantastic team. Liat listened to my needs/wants in an employer and went the extra mile to ensure it was a good fit for both qube.recruit.consult and myself. Through out the whole recruitment process, Liat has been thorough, professional and has even kept close contact with me to this day. I would highly recommend Liat if you’re looking for your next big recruitment role, or looking for your newest addition to your business.

What can I say about Liat that hasn’t already been said. In a short amount of time she was able to find the exact role I was looking for in recruitment, hassle free. Her professionalism shone throughout the entire process, while still being able to keep it personable and actually enjoyable. I would recommend Liat to anyone looking to either get into recruitment or take the next step.

After I was made redundant, other than the obvious of needing a job, personally I needed a huge confidence boost. Liat at Barton Mills was just the formula. Unlike bigger companies Liat made the process a very personal one and she was always on hand to offer her advice and share her experiences. The process was quick and made simple by a great worker.
They say everything happens for a reason. After meeting the Barton mills team and Liat Gould, I am now a firm believer.

Liat was fantastic to work with she made the whole recruitment process a pleasant experience. With her excellent communication through every step of the way right through to her friendly encouraging nature. She is an absolute pleasure to have as a consultant and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a consultant who cares and understands your needs and what you are looking for.

Being new to Sydney, I was unsure of how my maiden Australian career would begin. I knew I wanted to get in to recruitment, however, I was so nervous as I had no experience with the process in Sydney. After doing endless research I sent my CV to Barton Mills.
Within a couple of days I got a call from Liat. As soon as we got talking , I was instantly drawn in to her passion for getting people like myself into a career in recruitment. This calmed my nerves and after our conversation she invited me to come and speak in person.
This meeting was my first interview in the city, coming from a small town it was all quite daunting. Liat, though, made me feel at ease and the fact she was so interested in my previous career, my passions and career goals really filled me with confidence and in no doubt I could do this.
When it came to interview preparation, Liat was thorough and gave me all the support I could need, and that extra nod of confidence and self-belief. After three different interviews with very different companies, I received two offers and I start my career in January and I couldn’t be happier. From start to finish Liat has been amazing, there to pick me up when I was a bit down and right there to congratulate me.
